Strength After Sixty

Now Recruiting!

We've partnered with Towson University to further investigate the effects of the SAS program. We are now recruiting for our study, "The effects of modified powerlifts on senior citizens". If you're interested in participating, or want to learn more, leave your info in the contact box on this page.

What it is...

Strength - the quality or state of being strong: capacity for exertion or endurance.

Strength, after the age of 60, is more meaningful than the definition could allow. To older adults, it matters more. Being physically strong adds quality years to your life. It’s the best form of preventative care there is. It’s retirement planning that anyone can invest in.

Strength After Sixty (SAS) is a senior fitness program utilizing advanced strength training techniques which have been scaled to accommodate the geriatric population. It has been shown to build strength, increase bone density and improve functional capacity. The program focuses on weight bearing exercises that load the axial skeleton, functional training based on activities of daily living and mobility drills that improve posture and balance.
